Discovering Each Other

This weekend was the first time Aiden (Hailey's son) and Tucker have spent an extended time together and we found that they shared a mutual fascination. Tucker spent MUCH of her time staring at Aiden, watching his every move, and Aiden spent most of his time watching her, helping her, and one-upping her. She wasn't quite sure what he was all about and he wasn't quite sure he was willing to share ANY of his adults (Mama, Daddy, Paw, or Nana) with this little baby. He tried to teach her things like playing catch with a beach ball, but he also constantly pointed out to the adults how he could do it all a little better than she could. (It was really QUITE precious!) My favorite comment of the weekend was Aiden, upon seeing Paw carrying Tucker around, said, "Look, Paw, I can walk by myself!" (Hidden meaning: "That baby has to be carried, but I can WALK.") TOO CUTE!!!

Playing with Paw

Tucker and Paw did some SERIOUS bonding at the beach this weekend. Their first adventures involved an arguement that went something like this, "Mama." "Paw Paw." "Mama." "Paw Paw." "Mama." "Paw Paw." (Tucker's in a phase for about a week now where she says Mama over and over and over and over again. EVERYTHING is Mama right now.) Tucker also shared with Paw her favorite game, aka shoving your face around. (See the video for illustration.) They also shared some excellent nap times together. :) A good time was had by ALL!!!

Tucker finally got brave enough to try standing on her own. (She's been able to but too afraid to for a while now.)
In explanation for Mommy and Daddy's comments, a.) We are trying to practice blowing out candles for her birthday party so she at least doesn't try to grab a candle and b.) she's just figured out clapping in the last week, so she usually claps excitedly everytime you say, "Yea!" We're not really as crazy as these videos might make us seem. :)
This one's EVEN BETTER!!!

I wanted you all to see JUST HOW unimpressed Tucker was with the beach. :-) haha!

First Time at the Beach

This Memorial Day, we made our first non-harness trip to the beach. Meaning, this is the first time Tucker got in the sand or the water (including a pool). The funniest part of all of it is she was so nonchalant about it all. She seemed totally unimpressed about the sand, the waves, or the pool. She wasn't scared or unhappy. It was just no different than any other thing we'd ever done. What a trip this child is!!!

Videos

I have a video update for you folks!
The first is just my letting Tucker try to get at the camera. It's some pretty cute close-up video of her expressions. :)

This is Tucker's truck that her Nana got her. We were afraid to put her on it for a while becuase it doesn't have a seatbelt to hold her on, but she LOVES it. She's already figured out how to push herself around and she constantly hits the buttons making it crank, honk its horn, and back up.

This last video is my favorite! Tucker now understands, "Give me a kiss!" They are the slobbery-est kisses EVER, but they are SO SWEET. Once she starts giving them, you'll be hard pressed to get her to stop. Mouth open, tongue out, and then she makes eye contact with you while she goes in for the kill. It's fabulous!!!

Surgery Day

Tucker's surgery day began at 4am, was exhausting and stressful, but it went well. It was quick and she did really well with it all. She cried for a while after waking up and whimpered most of the ride home in her sleep, but when we walked in the house and she opened her eyes enough to see we were home, it was like a switch was flipped and she was ok. She went from sobbing to laughing in about 10 seconds. She's been talking constantly since, like she's just trying to figure out the difference in how her voice sounds now that she doesn't have all that fluid in her ears. Sweet, sweet baby!

Our Little Lady

Such the little lady, Tucker sits with her feet crossed probably 75% of the time. So precious!

Mother's Day

This year marked our first Mother's Day "out of belly". :) (As I see it, we had our first Mother's Day last year, but since very few other people saw it that way - as can be noted by some comments I got last year - Tucker and I celebrated that one just the two of us. haha)
Drew had his last Sunday at the church in Decatur on Mother's Day, so T and I decided to spend the morning lounging and playing in the living room. As Murphy and his crazy law would have it, about 10 minutes after Drew left for church, Tucker took a spill and whacked her lip open. Blood gushing, baby and Mommy crying and I couldn't tell in all the frenzy from where the blood was coming. Once I finally saw it was her lip (not her gums or a tooth knocked out or back in as Scott proved can happen), I calmed down and called Drew back. (He was turning around and heading back in response to my first frantic "The baby is bleeding and I can't tell where from" phone call. haha) Anyway, the rest of the day was just lovely, including when Drew handed T my Mother's Day cards and she handed them too me (melt my heart!!!).
Absolutely NO personality in this child at all. :)
If you look at the lefthand side of her lip (her left), you can see it's a little bit swollen and you can see the red line running from her lip to her nose from the split. Poor thing.

The "money shot" of her "I love Mommy" onesie spotted with her blood. The perfect image for my first Mother's Day. ha!

After a nap on Mommy's chest, she was right as rain. :)

She has the sweetest smiles!!!

Cinco de Mayo

The family went to Los Bravos with Ashie (Ashley Hall) for Cinco de Mayo. I came home with this sombrero and Tucker seemed taken with it. In true form (as Uncle Mark and Uncle Ric can account to), Tucker FREAKED OUT when I took the hat off my head and put it on hers. Not sure why other peoples' hats freak her out so. Maybe she was a louse (is that the singular form of lice?) in a past life. hahaha!

Paw Paw and Pam's birthday visit

Paw Paw (Joel), Paw (Ricky), Nona (Pam) and Aiden came to Woodstock last weekend to see us, and we took the opportunity to celebrate both Paw Paw and Pam's birthdays (both within a couple of days of their visit). We went to Buffalo's and then came back to our house for cake. :-)

Look at those eyes, people!!!

Absolutely NO personality!!!

I LOVE my car! It's WAY cooler than a stroller!

More Munner's Birthday

Nan has issues (as is illustrated in these pictures of her tying balloons to my baby's ankles). :-) ha!

Does this make anyone else think of a little kid with a bug and a magnifying glass?!?

Munner's Birthday Party

The fam threw a surprise party for Munner's 80th birthday ON her 80th birthday. Out of town folks, some of Uncle Bobby's family, Betty and Nick - there were TONS of people there! Gonna throw in a couple of blogs with pictures from the day. :)
